Hi everyone,

I've organized a spontaneous hike for Saturday, May 17, 2025, from Eibsee to Hochthörle Hütte. This scenic trail offers beautiful views of the Lake Eibsee and the surrounding alpine landscape.

We'll maintain a relaxed pace, making it suitable for those with some hiking experience(T3). However, please note that I'm not a professional guide. Hiking involves some risk, so everyone is responsible for their own safety and should familiarize themselves with the route and its requirements.

What to Bring:

  • 2 liters of water

  • Snacks or lunch 

  • Good hiking shoes

  • Rain jacket (showers and fog expected)

Train Details:

  • Departure: 7:32 AM – Munich Central Station (PL -27)

  • Train: RB6 (Train No. 59401) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen

  • Arrival: 8:56 AM at Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Bus Details:

  • Departure: 9:14 AM – Bus Line 9840 from Bahnhof Garmisch-Partenkirchen

  • Arrival: 9:55 AM at Eibsee Bushalt, 82491 Grainau

    Return options (Saturday):

    • 5:10 PM – 7:36 PM: Bus 9840 → Train RB6 (2h 16m)

    • 6:10 PM – 8:26 PM: Bus 9840 → Train RB6 (2h 16m)

    • 7:10 PM – 9:26 PM: Bus 9840 → Train RB6 (2h 16m)

Tickets:
The Deutschlandticket is valid for travel on Bus 9840 from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Eibsee.

Hey there! It’s a short hike — 657 meters of elevation and 12.1 km in total, which takes about 4 hours to complete. We have 6 hours available, even with a 1-hour break at the peak. Since there’s no proper connection between 15:00 and 17:00, I’m planning to stay at the back with anyone who needs to go at a slower pace.Hope you guys are fine with that...!
