Description

Hike with overnighting at Kröntenhütte

We will meet at Erstfeld train station and walk to the bottom station of aerial lift Hofstetten-Wilerli. After an exciting ride with the small lift we will start the hike to Kröntenhütte. It is a varied and beautiful track with impressive views to Alpbach river and a waterfall. Before we reach the hut we will pass alpine lake Fulensee and might continue to hike even a little further to alpine lake Obersee. Who ever is keen on it can take a dip in the lakes. Timewise we just need to make sure we are at the hut before dinner (18:30).

On Friday we will enjoy breakfast between 7:00 an 9:00 and return to Erstfeld afterwards. Depending on the weather (it should be nice and sunny) and our mood we can take the route down through the valley or again the more scenic route to Wilerli lift station and down to Erstfeld.

Due to the aerial lift the elevation gain will be reduced to approx 950m!

Just a warning, the high route on the right side of the valley had some very dangerous snow fields that were hard to get around. The lower route should be fine. There was still a lot of snow on the way to the hut 2 weeks ago, but should be less now and was passable when we were there :)
