Hey everyone!
I am planning to hike to Tegernseer Hütte on Sunday which is located between the summits of Roßstein and Buchstein. I am hiking with a couple of friends (not on Hiking Buddies) which is why I am limiting the group size to 6. The approach to the hut is marked by a great "Eagle's Nest" viewpoint! I would like to enjoy the views and have a relaxed lunch at the hut, so please keep the day free so that we don't have to rush. The tentative plan is:
07:15: Meet at Munich Hbf, platform 33
07:29 - 09:25: RB57 to Tegernsee + Bus 390 to Tegernseer Hütte bus stop
09:30 - 12:00: Hike to Tegernseer Hütte via Roßstein
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch at Tegernseer Hütte
13:00 - 13:30: Ascent to Buchstein and return to Tegernseer Hütte (optional)
13:30 - 15:45: Descent to Wildbad Klamm bus stop via Buchsteinalm
15:57: Bus 356 + RB57 back to Munich
There is also a connection back to Munich an hour later at 16:57 if we want to spend more time at the summits/ hut or hike at a slower pace.
The weather forecast is clear/ slightly cloudy till 16:00/ 17:00 with temperatures around 13-15 deg C. There might be some light rain in the late afternoon/ evening. The plan may be modified based on the weather.
The hike is mostly T2 with two short T3/ T5 secured segments on the way to the summits. There is an easier (but slightly longer) detour available for the first secured segment that meets the main route at the hut while the second secured segment to Buchstein can be skipped with a longer break at the hut. I will take the secured routes, but if you don't feel comfortable you can take the detour and we can meet up again at the hut.
