It's very short notice, and Brülisau is not easy to reach by public transport, but I was wondering if anyone has the day off and might want to hike up Hoher Kasten to see the airshow on Friday? This should be a neat event, with a lot of historic planes flying, and I thought it was a great opportunity to combine it with a hike. Here's the link for the airshow:

I would plan to follow the first half of this hike (clockwise direction), in all likelihood I would take the Seilbahn back down to Brülisau. I'll be driving through St. Gallen, so a carpool might be an option if anyone is coming from that direction. The pace would be relatively relaxed, under 400m/hr, which would leave plenty of time to stop for a break and make it to the peak before the air show starts at 13:30.

I have done most sections of this route before, although not all, but it is suitable for anyone. I am of course not a certified guide, so all participants are responsible for their own safety and well-being.
