Route: From Obersaxen we go up to Stein (aka Stei) and then follow the ridge to Piz Mundaun. Afterwards we descent to Luven. Some small snow patches are possible, check out the webcams: https://obersaxen-mundaun.ch/webcam/.

Pace: Moderate (on the faster side). This hike is not suitable for beginners as the ascent is quite significant.

Starting point: Obersaxen, Meierhof Post bus stop.

End point: Luven, Panera bus stop.

How to get there: Train IC 3 direction Chur departs from Zurich HB at 7:38. Change in Chur to RE7, and then in Ilanz to Bus B 451.

How to get back: Bus to Ilanz and then further by train. As the bus goes every hour, it's also possible to walk further down to Ilanz (another 2.7 km), from where there are usually 2 trains per hour - so if we miss the bus, that might be the fastest option.

What to take: Regular hiking equipment, in particular comfortable shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes), hiking poles could help if we encounter some snow patches; food - we’ll have picnic lunch at the top; water; sunscreen; sunglasses; rain jacket (if there is a chance of rain - check the latest forecast).
