<p class="mb-4" style="font-size: 16px; border: 0px solid; margin-bottom: 1rem; font-family: " graphik="" meetup",="" -apple-system,="" blinkmacsystemfont,="" roboto,="" helvetica,="" arial,="" sans-serif;"="">Hi Me and My friend are going for a hike from Balsthal to Weissenstein on Monday 09 of June, we meet at 8:10 at Basel SBB to take a train IC6 to Brig, and arrive to Balsthal at 9:30, we will wait for people arriving from zurich and should be ready to start around 9:45am from Basthal&nbsp;</p><p class="mb-4" style="font-size: 16px; border: 0px solid; margin-bottom: 1rem; font-family: " graphik="" meetup",="" -apple-system,="" blinkmacsystemfont,="" roboto,="" helvetica,="" arial,="" sans-serif;"="">We start at Balsthal and we climb from around 500 meters, to 1250 meters, mostly through a forest. Description

Hi Me and My friend are going for a hike from Balsthal to Weissenstein on Monday 09 of June, we meet at 8:10 at Basel SBB to take a train IC6 to Brig, and arrive to Balsthal at 9:30, we will wait for people arriving from zurich and should be ready to start around 9:45am from Basthal

We start at Balsthal and we climb from around 500 meters, to 1250 meters, mostly through a forest. The next 10 km are without larger climbs till we reach Oberbalmberg at 1080, where the next climb to 1400 gets us up to Röti.

From there it is a short 2 km downhill to Weissenstein at 1280.

From Weissenstein, we likely take the Gondola to Oberdorf SO and from there the train back to Basel.

Good to know

Please be fit and prepared to do a substantial number of km. There are some restaurants on the way but have food and water. Also the last gondola is at 17:30 so if we take longer we might also need to do the last walk down of around 700m.

I am not a proficient hiking guide so the participation is at own risk. Please if you have allergies be prepared etc.
