Journey:
05:20 meeting in HBF platform 27
05:32 RB6 to Garmisch, then 07:04 RB60 to Ehrwald Zugspitzbahn
07:29 start hiking from Ehrwald
For descent we will take the cable car to Eibsee (€44, last descent at 17:45) and then a bus to Garmisch (every hour at xx:10, we will most likely catch the 18:10 one, arrival in München HBF at 20:52).
- The Gatterl route is considered the easiest way up to Zugspitze, however it's not a beginner friendly hike due to its lenght and the elevation of >2200 m.
- We’ll hike together, as one group, with a moderate pace of 350-400m of ascent per hour. Please do not join if you are significantly slower or faster.
- If time permits, I wish to stop at the Knorhütte or the summit restaurant for refreshments.
- For now the weather looks sunny and warm (up to 28OC in the valley and 10OC at the top). If the weather forecast turns bad, I reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event. Also, if the weather turns bad while we are hiking, we will go back or change the route.
- If we haven't hiked together before, please contact me before joining.
- The link to the WhatsApp group will be posted in the comments section on Friday evening (27.06.2025). Please join the group to get the latest updates.
