Direct train ALX84134 takes us to Oberstdorf where we start and end our hike.

Total Distance: 20 km

Total Elevation Gain: 1670 m

Pace: Medium to fast  (>500 hm/hour)

Technical difficulty: The hike has the difficulty of T5. Please read the blog by Thomas to understand the requirement for T Sac Scale. In general, this is not suitable for beginners, and you should have some fitness to make 1600 elevation gain without any problem.

Things to bring:

Hiking boots.

Hiking Poles.

Rain jacket.

Enough water and food for yourself.

(Stopping at the hut is optional..)

Cash for the ticket.

I prefer if you have DAV membership.

Headlamp (may not be necessary).

Most importantly, a smiling face and a happy vibe.

Note: Please don’t join the hike if you want to come back early or if you don’t like to be photographed: P. Please unjoin the event well in advance if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the game when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Depending on the weather it could be moved to previous Saturday or following weeks.

Going to the mountains like any other adventure tours are always risky, sometimes it might be life-threatening! Attendees are advised to read the full description in to, look into the route details and to make it familiarise with themselves to the point that as if they are going to hike by their own. If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happens, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). We are certainly not official guides, so it is not a guided tour. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting and sharing the travel cost, nothing else!

Edit: Due to some problem with Alex train, it is showing to use bus service from Immenstadt to Oberstdorf which is not convenient. I just changed the meeting time to 15 minutes before so that we can take the train at 06:52 which has one change but it should be better than bus.

The weather forecast looks fantastic tomorrow, we should be able to see Hofats tomorrow 😊
