Description

Hello Everyone!
My cousin and I are organizing to climb the kilimanjaro between the 9th and the 19th of december 2025.
the Route would be the Lemosho route and we would like to find at least two more people to join us.
The ideal would be between 4 and 6 people total.
We have already contacted a local tour operator that seems reliable (not the cheapest but seems very professional) and we already have solid information about pricing and schedule.

Here is the rough Schedule as it is described by the tour operator:

  • 9/12: Arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, Transfer to the hotel in Moshi and pre-climb briefing.

  • 10/12: Moshi to Lemosho gate to Big tree (Mti Mkubwa) camp
2-3h 4x4 drive to the trail head, then trek to the camp.
    3-4h trekking, 7km, +680m of elevation, End Altitude 2780m

  • 11/12: Big Tree (Mti Mkubwa) camp to Shira Two camp
    8-10h trekking, 13km, +1120m, End Altitude 3900m

  • 12/12: Shira Two camp to Lava Tower to Barranco camp
    6-8h trekking, 10km, +785m / -670m, End Altitude 3960m

  • 13/12: Barranco camp to Karanga camp
    3-5h trekking, 6km, +290m / -210m, End Altitude 4040m

  • 14/12: Karanga camp to Barafu Camp
    3-4h trekking, 4km, +600m , End Altitude 4640m

  • 15/12: Barafu Camp to Stella point to Uhuru peak to Mweka camp (summit day)
    14-18h trekking, 18km, +1255m / -2815m, End Altitude 3080m

  • 16/12: Mweka camp to Mweka gate to Moshi town
    3-4h trakking, 10km, -1450m
    Drive back to Moshi, 1h
    Celebration party and dinner.

The cost that I was given for four people is 2275$ (USD) and that includes the Hotel and transport from and to the airport in Tanzania. the price will adjust with 6 people and in function of the options that you choose (single person tents, equipment, etc.)

what is NOT included in that price is the price of the plane tickets (around 700CHF from Zürich), food and beverage in the town of Moshi and the tips for the porters, cook and guide (around 200$ to be paid in cash by each participant).

Good to know

If you are interested:

Please contact me at the following Email: Delbourg.matt@gmail.com and I will send you the detailled quote and schedule given by the tour operator.
if that is good for you I would like to meet you in person if possible or at least in a video call to learn to know you a bit.

the current people that are in for certain are my cousin and I, we are two french people. I speak english fluently, my cousin doesn't but it is good for him to try for a bit. it would be ideal if you can speak french of course but that is absolutely not mandatory.

the goal today is to book the holiday by the end of JULY 2025 by making a deposit of 20% of the value of the trip (roughly 450$). You should book your own flight directly if possible, if not we can discuss an arrangement.
