The route goes from Ettal up to Notkarspitze and then down to end in Farchant.

There are no huts along the way so need to bring enough food and water for the complete route.

There is an ice cream shop in Farchant. Can get a drink if we need to wait for the train back for a longer time.

Train Details:

• Train: RB 6 (5411) direction Mittenwald - get off at Oberau
• Departure: 7:32 from München Hbf
• Change at Oberau for bus 9624 to Reutte -> Klostergasthof, Ettal (10 minutes)
• Arrive at Klostergasthof, Ettal 09:03 to start.

Return Journey:

• Train back to Munich from Farchant every hour
• Possible times 15:11,  16:09, 17:09
• RB6 16:09 - Munich 17:26

What to bring:

• Hiking shoes
• At least 2L of water
• Food for the day
• Deutschlandticket or your own ticket
• Sun protection
• Rain jacket in case the rain arrives earlier than expected
