Description

Let's go to Valais (one of the few places with good weather tomorrow) to do the famous Jegihorn via ferrata with its spectacular suspension bridge and fantastic view of the >4000 meter peaks in the Saas Valley! It's also the highest via ferrata of the western alps.

Details

  • Description: Weissmieshütte, SAC, bergsteigen.com
  • Difficulty: K4/K5 with suspension bridge, not suitable for via ferrata beginners
  • Start: Zurich HB 06:02 to Kreuzboden, arrival at 09:08
  • Duration: ~7 hours
  • Return: I aim to catch the last gondola from Kreuzboden at 16:45. If we cannot catch it, we can hike down to Saas-Grund, Post (~2 hours) where there are connections to Zurich until 21:37
  • Weather: it will be max. 10 C° with some wind

What to Bring

  • Helmet
  • Via ferrata set
  • Gloves
  • Food, water, layers, sun/wind/rain protection
  • Hiking shoes for the way to and from the via ferrata
