On 16 August 2025, the Geigelstein hike from Parkplatz Geigelsteinbahn begins with a fresh morning breeze and clear blue skies.
The trail winds past Wuhrsteinalm and Wirtsalm, surrounded by lush alpine meadows full of summer flowers.
Weather will be hot and sunny, reaching up to 30 °C, so early start and sun protection are essential.
From the summit at 1,808 m, breathtaking views stretch over Chiemsee, the Kaiser Mountains, and distant Karwendel peaks.
The protected nature reserve offers a rich variety of flora and butterflies along the way.
Wooden alpine huts invite hikers to rest and enjoy traditional Bavarian snacks.
This hike blends natural beauty, panoramic scenery, and the charm of the Chiemgau Alps into one unforgettable summer adventure.
