Dear Hiking Buddies,

Invitation to join the 10 Day Elbrus Expedition with us in collaboration with Satyarup Siddhanta ( Guinness world record holder ) once again. You can find detailed itinerary mentioned below for clear understanding.

Also, some key important things to keep in mind.

- Dates are yet to be finalised basis on the overall group preference
- Expedition cost and logistics shall be discussed privately with the group
- Please check the instructions for pre-requisites 

Deadline for signing up - End of January 2025


Day 1: Arrival in Mineralnye Vody (MRV)

    Arrival: Arrive at Mineralnye Vody airport (MRV) by 2 PM at the latest.

    Transfer: Transfer to Hotel Azau Star (3 stars) in Treskol. This will take approximately 5 hours.

    Note: It's recommended to arrive before 2 PM due to mountain driving conditions.

 

Day 2: Acclimatization & Gear Preparation

    Acclimatization Hike: Hike to Mount Cheget (3000 m).

    Gear Rental: Visit the rental gear store to organize and try on rented gear for the expedition.

 

Day 3: Optional Waterfall Hike (Acclimatization)

    Optional: Hike to a waterfall for additional acclimatization.

 

Day 4: Ascent to Leaprus Hut (Base Camp)

    Transfer: Transfer to Azau cable car station (2356 m) by bus.

    Ascent: Ascend to the Base Camp Leaprus Hut (4000 m).

    Acclimatization Hike: From the hut, climb higher to acclimatize, passing several huts and reaching Priyut 11 (4100 m).

    Descent: Descend back to the Leaprus Hut for the night.

 

Day 5: Acclimatization to Pashtukhova Rocks

    Acclimatization Hike: Hike to Pashtukhova Rocks (4600-4800 m).

    Night Stay: Stay overnight at the Leaprus Hut.

 

Day 6: Climbing Training & Preparation

    Training: Basic climbing training sessions.

    Rest & Preparation: Rest and prepare for the summit attempt.

    Night Stay: Stay overnight at the Leaprus Hut.

 

Day 7: Elbrus Summit Attempt

    Start Time: Start the summit attempt at 1 AM.

    Snow Cat Ride: Option to take a snow cat ride to 4700-4800 m.

    Summit: Ascend to the summit of Elbrus (5642 m).

    Descent: Descend the same day to the valley and return to the hotel. If late, stay at the hut.

    Ascent Duration: The ascent typically takes 8-12 hours.

 

Day 8 & 9: Reserve Days

    Reserve Days: In case of weather-related delays or interruptions to the summit attempt.

    Party: Party in the evening.

    Departure: Option to leave Mineralnye Vody on Day 9.

 

Day 10: Departure

    Transfer: Transfer to Mineralnye Vody airport.

    Flight: Ensure your flight is after 2:30 PM.

Good to know

Requirements :

- Participants should be fit and healthy

- Cardiovascular Endurance : Be in peak physical condition with excellent cardiovascular fitness to endure the extreme altitude and demanding climbs. Participants must be able to run 10 KM at their own pace

- Technnical Skills ( Good to have ) : Possess advanced mountaineering skills, including navigating steep snow and ice slopes, and basic rock climbing techniques

- Hiking : Experience in high altitude hiking above 4500m or more in last 6 months or latest in last 1year 

( Expectation : Hiking Buddies who hiked Kilimarjaro, Everest Base Camp are qualified for this directly )

- Participants must know about the basic and orientation about various illness that occurs at High Altitude like HACE, HAPE and AMS.

When you sign up, we will:

  • We will Assess your experience and review your past climbing history and performance data.
  • Will Develop a Training Plan to tailor the requirements for Elbrus.
