Hike to the Berglimattsee (GL), in the protected area Freiberg Kärpf.

T2/T3 not T1, intermediate/upper level, 1'400m uphill elevation, 15km length

Connection by public transportation:

• Zürich HB 06:43 am to Ziegelbrücke 07:25 am (S25)
• Ziegelbrücke 07:34 am to Glarus, Bahnhof 08:10 am (B501)
• Glarus 08:15 am to Schwanden GL 08:23 am (S6)
• Schwanden GL 08:28 am to Matt, Dorf 08:43 am (B541)

Pace: ~400 uphill meters per hour.

Schedule: we should reach the Berglimattsee at around 12:30-12:45, enjoy the beautiful views and have lunch nearby. Please bring food and beverage with you. If you want to take a dip in the alpine lake, don't forget the swim suit and the towel. We start going down at 13:30-13:45 in order to reach the bus station Engi, Landesplattenberg at about 17:00 and take the bus at 17:12.

Meeting point: Matt, Dorf at 08:45 am.

If you come by public transportation, click on "Carpool" and "Add Car", and add the train as a car.

If you come by car, park at the Matt, Dorf bus station or Matt, Talstation Seilbahn (Alte Str. 7, 8766 Matt).

Recommended gear: Hiking shoes/boots; sunscreen; hiking poles.
