Let's hike along and over the impressive Gantrisch mountains to Stockhorn

The hike will be from Gurnigel pass to Leiterepass. From there we will partly follow the main hiking route to Stockhorn, but will half way leave it and hike up to 3 minor peaks of the Gantrisch mountain chain. We will come again on the main route for the final and steep climb to Stockhorn.

The main route is an normal hiking path. However the ridge path on the Gantrisch mountain chain can be poorly marked, exposed and rocky in places. The final climb to to Stockhorn is steep. This hike is not suitable for beginners!

Difficulty: mainly T2, in sections up to T4 (if you are not familiar with it please check SAC classification)

Pace: moderate pace around 400m/h

Starting point and time: 8:35 Thurnen Bahnhof. Buy the hiking ticket for Gantrisch to Stockhorn, it includes the bus transfer to Gurnigel pass and also cable car from Stockhorn to Erlenbach im Simmemtal. We will start hiking from Gurnigel pass (Wasserschiede) at 9:15

Ending point and time: 15:00 Stockhorn peak

Equipment: good shoes, water, lunch & snacks, sun protection (cap & sunscreen), clothing according to the weather - take layers, poles as you prefer, cash
