Description
Alrighty, spontaneous decision but "Eng tut immer gut" :)

Maybe some of you would like to join tomorrow  for a hike to Hahnkampl in Karwendel, a little less known peak in comparisson to Sonnjoch, Gamseljoch. Nonetheless worthy of a hike :D

Early bird gets to enjoy extra cake at alm.... or so I've heard :) Feel free to join if you like.

The orga/ logistics stuff:

Train Muc > Lenggries> Bergbus Lengriess
We meet and greet at Munich Hbf, Platform 34, hop onto BRB to Lenggries, take the bus to Eng and begin the hike at 9.30.
Return goal is 16.25 but since it is weekend ther are also some fall back connections.

Good to know

You know the drill - proper prep makes the hike a jolly one.

What to bring, the usuals:

  • proper shoes (hiking shoes)
  • hiking poles (optional but good to have)
  • proper clothes with layer principle
  • some snacks and about 1.5 L water to fuel you
  • ID since we are crossing the border to eng
  • pack always a rainjacket as the weather in the alps can switfly change
  • dav insurance
  • cash for the hut
  • good mood or fake it till you make it :P
  • first aid kit
  • deutschand ticket
  • powerbank for your phone
  • cap / sunglasses
  • buff
  • sun cream / lip balm

+ luxury items: pair of socks and a tshirt to change afterwards.

There are couple of Alms so we can have a cake and a drink on our descent and they should be still open. Nonetheless bring snacks with you for the break.

Weather will be nice tomorrow, somewhat from 5 to 20 degrees, a bit cloudly in the afternoon but overall not too warm, not too cold.

The hike is technically not so difficult but it does require a good condition and fitness level overall .

Please be mindful and assess accordingly - You know yourself the best, be honest if you can do such a hike or not.

Regarding the pace - a moderate steady one where. Important is to have the group or buddies in sight.

If you like to run or are a bit slower also fine. Important is that you download the gpx, make yourself familiar with the route.

I am not a mountain guide.
