The weather looks good in the Zillertaler Alps, so let’s head to one of the most scenic huts in the Alps: the Olpererhütte (2,389 m) above the Schlegeisspeicher reservoir.
The trail offers alpine meadows, rocky paths, and breathtaking views of the turquoise lake below. Of course, we’ll stop at the hut for drinks and lunch, and yes, we’ll cross the famous suspension bridge for those Instagram-worthy photos.

This is a carpool hike, so please only join if you are sure you can make it.
Travel costs (gas, vignette, parking, etc.) will be shared among all participants.

Plan:
9:15 Drivers meet at Schlegeisspeicher parking lot (trail head)
9:30 We start hiking

Please note: I might cancel the event if the weather forecast turns unfavorable or if too few people sign up.

What to bring:

• Warm layer (hoodie, fleece, or light coat)

• Rainproof / windproof jacket

• At least 2L of water

• Snacks or packed lunch for along the way

• Sturdy hiking boots

• Sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)

• Hiking poles (optional but useful)

• Cash for hut food/drinks (cards not always accepted)

• DAV membership card (recommended for discounts & insurance)

• Downloaded GPX track on your phone/GPS device

• Small first aid kit / blister plasters
