Route: From Buchserberg we follow https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-922 up to Margelchopf and then down to Voralpsee. At Voralpsee there might be an option to take a swim in the lake, or to finish the hike early and take a bus back. We'll then continue on https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-86/stage-5 to Wildhaus.

Pace: Moderate (on the faster side - with multiplier approximately 1.2x compared to the SwissTopo time). This hike is not suitable for beginners.

Starting point: Buchserberg, Berghaus bus station.

End point: Wildhaus, Lisighaus bus station.

How to get there: Train IC 3 direction Chur departs from Zurich HB at 8:07. Change in Sargans to train IR 13 direction St. Gallen. Change in Buchs SG to bus B 403 direction Buchserberg, Berghaus.

How to get back: Bus back from Wildhaus.

What to take: Regular hiking equipment, in particular comfortable shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes); food - we’ll have picnic lunch somewhere on the way; additional warmer clothing; water; sunscreen; sunglasses; (optional) swimming suit & towel.
