Hi All,
Let us do a short but exciting Klettersteig to the summit of Ettaler Manndl (1,633 m) before the season ends. After reaching the summit cross and enjoying the views, we will be going for a T2-T3 moderate hike to Schartenkopf (1,768 m), offering panoramic views over the Ammergau Alps.
Highlights:
Exciting but short climb with beautiful exposure.
Breathtaking summit panorama over the Zugspitze and Ammergau Alps.
Great first Klettersteig to build confidence.
Short and rewarding: The ferrata is not too long or technically difficult.
Safe and well-maintained: Cables, pegs, and protection points are all in excellent condition.
Scenic: You get the thrill of climbing with minimal risk and maximum view payoff.
Option to skip the via ferrata: A hiking trail to Schartenkopf.
Transport: We will be taking the RB6 from pl.27 to Oberau which leaves at 07:32am. From Oberau bus 9606 to Klostergasthof Ettal arriving at 09.05am. We will start hiking at 09:10am. We will be taking the return journey at 15:40 bus 9606 to oberau, followed by train to Munich. We will be in Munich by 17:30pm. As I prefer not leaving the group and walking together I dont mind taking the later transport and we have the return option every hour.
