This is not a beginner hike, but if you have the skills for:

  1. a T6 Hike
  2. Unsecured scrambling (UIAA III)
  3. Either rappeling or alternatively down-climbing some IV sections (this could be secured)

Then join me on 12-Apostel-Grat :) a wonderful alpine tour on a ridge between Germany and Austria, with panoramic views of lakes and fairytale castles (Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau)

Info about this tour:

  • 30 m rope (I‘ll bring it)
  • climbing helmet
  • Headlamp
  • Harness, rappel device, carabiners, slings etc
  • A slice of cake for the organizer (optional but you may get a good review with this ;)

Prereq for joining this hike:

  • Either you have in your HB profile the above listed experience
  • Or, we know each other from some hikes/socials/etc and I know about your scrambling skills
  • If not, please contact me before joining and tell me your related experience

Please note:

  • Having indoor climbing experience doesn’t necessarily means you can climb UIAA III on alpine terrain; factors like height, exposure, etc cannot be emulated on a climbing gym.
  • Please only join if you have absolute sure-footedness and can manage UIAA III without rope (although the two III-sections could be somehow secured, but most of the ridge (I/II) and can not be)

Important:

  • I am not guiding this tour, rather searching for a partner(s) of comparable experience as me.
  • I reserved the right to remove people if I consider they dont have the suffcient knowledge/experience for this tour. In this way the safety of all the participants is guaranteed
  • As this is a long and difficult tour, the participant number is limited, please only join if you are commited. After joining the hike, please send your phone number for adding you to the WhatsApp group.
