Hello, dear Hiking Buddies!
+++ Weather condition is acceptable: Cold temps, low chance for rain, a bit of sun. +++
Here is my suggestion for a group hike along the mountain ridge from Dielsdorf to Baden for SUNday, 26.10., with the following details - please read until the end:

  • start/meeting point = "Dielsdorf" train station,
  • starting time = 9:15 o'clock sharp,
  • distance = 13.0 km,
  • duration = 4:15 hours (without breaks), so ~ 5 hours with breaks and photo stops,
  • uphill (total) = 450 m,
  • downhill (total) = 500 m,
  • difficulty = medium,
  • activity level = high => let's try to be speedy as possible!,
  • official track = yellow paths of the network.

The hike is supposed to be a training "run" for alpine tours. Hence, we are going a speedy as possible! Second half has exposed ridges, so please don't be afraid of heights.

Good to know

How to get there (from Zürich HB):
Take the regional train S15 (going to Niederweningen) to Dielsdorf, departure 8:52 o'clock from platform 41/42.
Arrive at "Dielsdorf" at 9:15 o'clock. Exit to the left / village centre.

What to consider:
- Please wear proper footwear (light hiking shoes).
- Wear clothes that keep you dry and warm, according to your needs and the weather. 
- Bringing hiking poles is especially recommended here!
- Also take enough water and provisions with you for the day. Free water refill is possible on the way at some locations only.
- Finally, don't forget good mood!

Bonus:
Bring a swimsuit and a towel with you. We might have the opportunity for a hot spring bath afterwards!
