Hello, dear Hiking Buddies!
+++ Weather forecast is good and the mountain look to be snow-free. So the tour is set!+++
Here is my suggestion for a group hike along to the top of Rophaien from Flüelen for SATurday, 1.11., with the following details - please read until the end:

  • start/meeting point = "Flüelen" train station,
  • starting time = 9:15 o'clock sharp,
  • distance = 13.8 km,
  • duration = 9:00 hours (without breaks), so ~ 10-11 hours with breaks and photo stops,
  • uphill (total) = 1.630 m,
  • downhill (total) = 1.630 m,
  • difficulty = hard,
  • activity level = high,
  • official track = yellow, red and blue paths of the network.

Good to know

How to get there (from Zürich HB):
Take the direct train IR46 "Treno Gotthardo" (going to Locarno) to Flüelen, departure 7:45 o'clock from platform 8.
Arrive in "Flüelen" at 9:14 o'clock. Exit to the bus stop (right tunnel) to meet me there.

What to consider:
- Please wear proper footwear (high-shaft hiking shoes).
- Wear clothes that keep you dry and warm, according to your needs and the weather. 
- Bring hiking poles is mandatory.
- Also take enough water and provisions with you for the day. Hardly any water refill is possible.
- Bring a headlight, in case we return in the dark.
- Finally, don't forget good mood!

IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARRIVE UNPREPARED, YOU WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE TOUR!
