Route: We first ascend from Glarus, and then follow https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-822 (in reverse direction). At the end there is an option to save ~4km distance and ~600m descent by taking down the slowest chairlift in Switzerland (https://kerenzerbergbahn.com/de/aktuell/oeffnungszeiten.html).
Conditions: According to SwissTopo there should be no snow on the route.
Pace: Moderate (on the faster side - with multiplier approximately 1.2x compared to the SwissTopo time).
Starting point: Glarus train station
End point: Filzbach, Sportzentrum bus stop
How to get there: Train S25 direction Linthal departs from Zurich HB at 8:43.
How to get back: Bus back from Filzbach. The fast connection goes every hour.
What to take: Regular hiking equipment, in particular comfortable shoes (hiking boots or trail running shoes); food - we’ll have picnic lunch somewhere on the way; additional warmer clothing; water; sunscreen; sunglasses.
Photos: I might take photos during the hike that might afterwards be shared on the HB group. If you don't want to be on the pictures, please let me know in advance. I will also create a Google Photos album and asked everyone to contribute their photos.
Disclaimer: I'm not a guide - everyone hikes at their responsibility and risk.
