Description

As long as we have good weather and not too much snow, I’d like to do Gratüberschreitung im königlichen Jagdrevier (https://www.ammergauer-alpen.de/tour/bergtour-gratueberschreitung-im-koeniglichen-jagdrevier), but an upgraded version — including the following peaks along the way:

• Teufelstättkopf (1758 m)

• Latschenkopf (1740 m)

• Laubeneck (1758 m)

• Hennenkopf (1768 m)

• Brunnenkopf (1719 m)

I’ve done Teufelstättkopf and Brunnenkopf a couple of times from Linderhof, and now it would be nice to discover the neighboring peaks.

The plan is to go from Oberammergau to Schloss Linderhof, so our time is limited because the last bus from Linderhof leaves at 16:35.

The section from Brunnenkopf to Linderhof can easily be done as a trail run.

Plan B: if we can’t manage the full route in time (Anspruch: 19.2 km, 1,354 hm total), we’ll head down to Linderhof after Hennenkopf.

This is planned as a quite speedy hike, so please join only if you can maintain at least 450 hm/h and have the stamina for a challenging hike. Some sections may have enough snow, so Grödel are a MUST.

Food: there are a couple of huts along the way, and at the August-Schuster-Haus there will be a small Christmas market. We can make a short stop to support local producers, grab something to eat, and enjoy a Kinderpunsch or Glühwein.

Still, please bring enough food and water for the whole day.

P. S. we might avoid Laubeneck, while as per latest DAV upd the way is due to Lawinengefahr geschlossen. So, after Teufelstättkopf we might go to August Schuster Haus and attempt Hennenkopf directly, avoiding Laubeneck.
