Join me on this short hike to Lenggrieser Waxenstein (1310 m) 😁

Important:

  • The event is rated SAC T3 (URL: SAC difficulty levels). You should be very comfortable with this difficulty level, as we are attempting this in winter under snow conditions. Absolute beginners will be removed!
  • You can expect a moderate pace of 300-350 m/h
  • You can expect about 5-10 cm of snow
  • The last ascent to the peak can be a bit tricky due to the snow. Please be prepared and use your own judgement before joining the event.
  • I reserve the right to cancel the event in case the weather is terrible, or no one else joins the event
  • A link to the WhatsApp group will be posted in the comments section on Friday evening (19.12.2025)

Things to bring:

  1. A good mood and a smiling face 😁 (Non-negotiable!)
  2. Fully-charged headlamp (Must have)
  3. Layered clothes, gloves, gaiters, spikes (Must have! There is snow and it will be cold 🥶)
  4. Deutschland ticket (please buy a ticket if you don't have one)
  5. DAV insurance (highly recommended)
  6. Enough water (~2 lt)
  7. Food and snacks for the whole event (We can stop in some hut along the way. There are many to choose from.)

[Update 19.12.2025] Hello guys, I just realized that the last time I was in the region, the hiking path from Lenggries to Brauneck was converted to a ski route. It was not fun hiking up on this route. So, I have made a few modifications and reversed the route. We will still do the same peak, but from the opposite direction. If needed, we might have to climb down the same path. I don't see much snow near Kotalm, so I don't expect much skiing traffic. I hope this is okay. Cheers!
