Description
Winter hike to Gottertli and Urmiberg from Brunnen (Ct. SZ)
Level medium - i.e., not for absolute beginners - around 1'000m uphill elevation, 8 km length
The weather is promised to be partially sunny on Saturday.
There will be some snow on the top, but probably not much. I expect to find the path partially muddy and slippery.
Start from Brunnen, Seilbahn Urmiberg Talstation (47.0008053; 8.5918541) at 09:25 am.
By public transportation:
- IR 46 Zürich HB 08:05 - Brunnen 09:05
- B508 Brunnen, Bahnhof 09:15 - 09:19 Brunnen, Seilbahn Urmiberg
By car: parking at Urmiberg Talstation, cost 5 CHF all day
Difficulty: T2/T3, not T6.
Pace: ~300/350 uphill meters per hour.
If you come by public transportation, click on "Carpool" and "Add Car", and add the train as a car.
Recommended gear: Hiking shoes/boots; dress in layers; sunscreen; hiking poles; spikes recommended.
