Description

A traverse across the Kaisergebirge, for the technical terrain lovers.


Technical Difficulty: This is a T5 hike and not beginner friendly. You should be able to maintain a steady fast pace (at least 450m gain/hour). You have to be surefooted, have no fear of heights, and have good experience with alpine pathless terrain. There is a pathless section that requires scrambling up to UIAA II.


Weather conditions: to be updated closer to the day (hike might be shifted depending on the weather).


Travel: We will take public transport. Train BRB RB54 departs 07:37 from Hbf, 07:45 from Ostbf; and continue with Regionalbus 4030 (6,10€). Bring your Deutschlandticket or organize your own ticket.


Things to bring:

  • proper hiking shoes
  • gloves
  • helmet highly recommended
  • hiking poles
  • food and water for the day
  • appropriate clothing according for the weather
  • GPX viewer with the route information
  • cash, at least for the bus ticket
