Description

I am doing a mild winter hike to Wallberg this Sunday. Given the current snow conditions, please bring spikes and make sure you’re comfortable walking in snowy terrain. Otherwise, it’s a relatively easy hike.

We will leave from the Esso station near Westendstraße Station. If traffic allows, we expect to arrive at the starting point (Wallberg cable car station) before 9:15 am.

We plan to eat at the Wallberg cable car station on the way down, likely around 12:00 pm, so please bring a small snack for the hike.

We will hike at a moderate pace (approximately 350–400 m elevation gain per hour). We will start and finish as a group. Given the length of the hike, we expect to return to Munich before 5:00 pm.

I don’t have specific rules for my car, but I would appreciate it if you could help keep it tidy.

If you would like to drive separately or add your car, please aim to arrive at Wallbergbahn Parkplatz (Wallbergstraße 28, 83700 Rottach-Egern) by 9:15 am.

  • Plenty of water
  • Spike/hiking pole
  • Suncream
  • Sunglasses
  • Food (if you don't plan to eat at the hut)
  • Cash (for the hut and drive)
  • Good mood :)
