Description
The hike to Simetsberg (≈1,840 m) from the Kochel/Walchensee area is a beautiful and quiet mountain tour in the Bavarian Prealps. The trail usually starts near Einsiedl , a short drive from Kochel, and climbs steadily through peaceful forest paths before opening up to wide alpine meadows near the top.
With about 1,000 m of elevation gain and around 10–11 km round trip, the hike is not technically difficult but requires good stamina.
Meeting point!
We meet at Munich main station at 7:35 in front of McDonald`s and take the S-bahn to Pasing train station.
If you live closer to Pasing train station we can meet there at 7:50.
Departure from Pasing Bahnhof : RB66 (to Kochel) at 08:05 AM
We take the bus from Kochel train station to Jachenau-Einsield at 9:18 AM - hiking start point.

What to bring with you:
- hinking shoes (+ spikes in case of deep snow)
- at least 2 L of water
- sun screen
- adequate hinking clothing (layers)
- If you tend to sweat a lot, bring a clean extra T-shirt for the way back. Let’s keep it breathable.
- food for the entire hike since there is no nut on the was but we could stop for a dring when we get back down.
- Deutschland ticket or money to buy your own ticket
- DAV card or similar insurance
- Downloaded offline accesible route navigation
- anything alse you, as responsable hiker consider that will be necessary for a safe end enjoyble hiking experience

If you decide to leave the group (go in front by yourself, or stopping for no reason), then we won’t search for you and you officially left the group, it is also the same if you don't bring required gears
