A two-day alpine adventure through one of the most spectacular circuits in the Vaud Alps — the Tour du Grand Muveran. We'll overnight at the iconic Cabane Rambert, with Jack Wolfskin covering the hut fees for all 10 participants and providing goodies to take on the trail.

This is a demanding Sunday + Monday — please make sure you meet the prerequisites before signing up. The list of participants will be kept to exactly 10. No exceptions.

Prerequisites

  • Switzerland-based Hiking Buddies members only
  • Minimum 5 hikes on your Hiking Buddies profile at the time of sign-up
  • Ability to maintain a pace of at least 600m gain / hour (this is a very sporty pace, you need to know what it means!)

Schedule (approx.)

🗓️ Day 1 — Pont de Nant → Cabane Rambert

  • 09:00 — Meet at Pont de Nant. Gear check & goodies distribution
  • 09:30 — Departure
  • 14:00 — Arrival at Cabane Rambert (2,580m) — approx. 1,300m gain, 8km
  • Evening — Dinner at the hut (included in the hut fee covered by Jack Wolfskin) 🍽️

🗓️ Day 2 — Cabane Rambert → Grand Muveran summit → Pont de Nant

  • 07:00 — Early breakfast at the hut
  • 07:30 — Departure towards the summit
  • 10:00 — Grand Muveran summit (3,051m) ⛰️
  • 10:30 — Begin descent
  • 15:30 — Back at Pont de Nant — approx. 500m gain + 1,800m descent, 17km

Do not plan anything tight on Monday evening in case of unexpected delays.

Jack Wolfskin Goodies Each participant will receive a goodie (shirt, beanie, thermo, gloves...) at the meeting point on Saturday morning. We'll encourage everyone to wear their Jack Wolfskin gear during the hike — we'll be taking photos along the way! 📸

Gear

Mandatory:

  • Hiking boots (ankle support strongly recommended)
  • At least 2.5L of water per day
  • Food/snacks for both days (dinner & breakfast are provided at the hut)
  • Warm mid-layer and waterproof jacket — temperatures at 3,000m can drop significantly even in summer
  • Headlamp

Recommended:

  • Trekking poles
  • Sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat)
  • Gaiters
