We will meet at München Hbf (Gl. 13). Please be punctual!

08:12 - 08:44 (REX 2) Kufstein - Jenbach (requires ÖBB/VVT Ticket)

08:54 - 09:18 (8332) Jenbach - Maurach/Achensee Mittelschule (requires ÖBB/VVT Ticket)

09:20 - 18:20 - hiking with breaks (small breaks at peaks, lunch break at the Hochis, and early dinner break at the Erfurter Hütte - https://www.erfurterhuette.at/)

18:27 - 18:49 (8332) Maurach/Achensee Mittelschule - Jenbach (requires ÖBB/VVT Ticket)

19:15 - 19:47 (REX 2) Jenbach - Kufstein (requires ÖBB/VVT Ticket)

20:00 - 20:26 (RB 54) Kufstein - Rosenheim

20:32 - 21:16 (RB 5) Rosenheim - München Hbf

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T4. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for the SAC scale T4. It is not a beginner-friendly hike due to the elevation gain and the total distance. For more info, please look at the YouTube videos. 

Pace: 450-500 mph

Huts: Early dinner break at the Erfurter Hütte - https://www.erfurterhuette.at/

VVT Ticket: For an even number of people, I propose to buy VVT Tagesticket Tirol 2Plus (€21.3 pp) OR Einfach-Raus-Ticket (working for REX 2; for 5 people €10 pp) and two bus tickets (2 x €4.7 pp), in total 19.4€ pp

Good to know

Things to bring:

  • Deutschland Ticket with ID card (EU) or passport;
  • cash for the hut and train/bus tickets (~20€, see above)
  • water (at least 2 l) and some food to eat at the peak;
  • hiking shoes;
  • windproof and waterproof clothes;
  • sunscreen and sunglasses;
  • DAV insurance;
  • hiking poles;
  • first aid kit;
  • GPX file with downloaded route;
  • good energy and stamina.

Note:

  • Unjoining is allowed until 12 hours before the start of the event
  • The organizer is not a professional guide. Participants are responsible for themselves, must do their own research about the route, and must be able to navigate by themselves (in case the group splits for some reason, for example)

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for themselves. Please make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. Additionally, you could download the map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit.
