Description

Update: We have to meet at Ostbahnhof, because BOB trains will leave from there on Sunday.

This is quite a long hike through the snow, hence not beginner friendly. Please message me if you are unsure, and/or we haven't hiked together yet.

We are going to take the BOB train leaving at 7:08 am from Ostbahnhof to Lenggries. We'll start hiking from the Lenggries train station.

We'll hike to Kreuth, and take the Bus from there to Tegernsee, and from there the BOB back to Munich. Possible Bus connections from Kreuth leave at 13:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00. We should aim for reaching the 16:00 bus.

If we would be later than 17:00, we would have to walk a few kilometers further to Rottach-Egern at least. From there exist bus connections much later at ca. 8pm, 9pm.

None of the huts on the way is open, so please make sure to bring enough food and drinks!

What to bring:

  • Have a very good fitness level. Ascend rate should be above 500hm/h at least.
  • A charged headlamp. Be prepared for hiking in darkness for a few hours.
  • Waterproof and warm hiking boots.
  • Gloves
  • Gaiters, for going through deep snow.
  • Dress in Layers, and make sure to bring enough warm clothes!
  • Food and Water for a whole day (at least ca. 2 Liter Water recommended).
  • Charged smartphone (my number is +49 152 28632131, in case you get lost, or fail to find the group in the morning).

Good to have equipment

  • First aid kit
  • Extra battery / Powerbank for your phone
  • Hiking poles
  • Spare socks (if your feet get wet)
  • Spikes

Cost per person
