This is a 2 day Avalanche Safety Course for snow shoe tourers and others without skiing experience who would like to get hands on experience with avalanche rescue gear and techniques. 

Day 1 covers the basic theory and rescue skills, day 2 is about planning and conducting a back country tour. This can be a hike or snow shoe tour, based on group preference.

The course is conducted by Blue Mountain Spirit, a partner of the Ortovox Safety Academy. The normal charge is 200 Euros per person, depending on the number of people signing up we will get a discount however. Not included are accommodation and food - a HP room in the area is going to be around 40 Euros.

If there is not enough snow, the course can be moved to alternative locations (Kitzbühel or Hochfügen). If that is not possible either, participants can either get a refund or pick another date.

We need to organise a carpool from Munich and accommodation in the area. There are no self catering huts as far as I know, but several pensions charging around 40 Euros per night including breakfast. Safety gear will be provided, everything else can be rented on site if necessary.
