Description

This is not a beginner friendly hike, there are some steep and a bit exposed parts on the way. Also deep snow is expected.

Please feel free to send me a message, if you are unsure whether this hike is something for you 🤔

You should have a good endurance, and experience hiking through the snow. We might well be the first people who hike up in the fresh snow. I expect to go up at least at ca. 400 hm/h in the snow.

We will take the train at 7:32 towards Garmisch, and we get out in Farchant at 8:47 and start the hike there.

Connections back to Munich leave at 15:11, 16:11, 17:09, 18:09, etc.

If there is too much snow, especially on the last ascent along the ridge, we may have to turn back. Also we may have to go descend on the same way, where we go up, depending on snow conditions.

  • Gaiters
  • Waterproof hiking boots
  • Gloves

  • Warm, but flexible clothing (since we might get some sunshine)
  • at least 1 liter of Water recommended
  • Food/Snacks for the day.
  • Headlamp, in case it gets dark before we get back down.
  • Spikes/Crampons strongly recommended
