Description
Pretty relaxing hike to the Hinteres Hörnle suitable for beginners. The trail is beautiful and easy, and will leads us over wide meadows through the Mittlere Hörnle mountain. We will have a view of the Ammergau Alps, which form a cordon to the south.
On our way back from the Hinteres Hörnle, we will stop for a drink and food at the Hörnlehütte cabin. The hut is open all year around.
Good to know
We will take a train from Munich Hauptbahnhof at 8:32 with a change at Murnau at 9:42 towards Unterammergau (arr 10:13). The travel time is 1 hour 41minutes. A bit long but worth it!
We will meet at 8:10 in front of platform 27 to have enough time to buy the tickets. The price for the ticket will be between 11 and 13 euros.
The trains back from Unterammergau are at 15:42, 16:42, 17:42. We should be back in Munich 19:30 at the latest.
Things to bring:
- Waterproof hiking boots (recommended for winter)
- Warm clothes (jeans and sneakers are not allowed)
- Water(1 or 2 litres) and food
- Trekking/hiking poles if you have
- Gaiters
- Spikes if you have
- Enough cash for the ticket
