Dear Hiking Buddies. I was missing a lot the group. Finally I can start hiking again together with something easy but very interesting! I am always in search of variety and interesting staff. So let´s go for an interesting geological hiking tour! We start from Obermaiselstein, not far from Oberstdorf, in the heart of Allgäu. At the narrow point of the road from Obermaiselstein to Tiefenbach, the so-called "Hirschsprung" (bus stop and small parking lot), the Obermaiselsteiner Sagenweg begins at the foot of the Schwarzenberg. The shady forest and meadow path takes the hiker on a journey through time. Five legendary themes were harmoniously staged in nature by the local artist Hildegard Simon. The accompanying information deals with the legends, their background and the geological and traditional details. We finally reach Sturmannshöhle caves! https://www.hoernerdoerfer.de/a-sturmannshoehle-obermaiselstein-allgaeu and we jump 300 meters deep into the fascinating world of prehistoric times! 120 million year old rock formations bring you on the brightly lit path to the dragon gate, past the cave throat to the cave cauldron!

The cave guide will tell us about the Allgäu mountains, legends and brave speleologists. The only crevice in the Allgäu promises close-up experience all year round at a constant 4 ° Celsius. After we paid a visit to the darkness,  let´s go back to the sun and we head towards Breitachklamm to enjoy a surreal dreamy winter landscape made of icy waterfalls and caves of Breitachklamm going down in Tiefenbach, The winter hiking trail heads through the entrance of the Breitachklamm gorge and straight into its depths. https://www.breitachklamm.com/ This is the deepest and one of the most impressive gorges in Europe. It is also one of the most beautiful natural geotopes in Bavaria, especially in winter when the frozen ice formations along the hiking trail that snakes its way through the gorge are an extraordinary natural sight. From the cash we go over to the Breitach river, keep to the right and walk in a slight ascent into the gorge. The valley constricts into a gorge, and from the level system the Klammweg becomes more and more exciting. The gorge is getting narrower, and the sunlight is getting again less and less. The narrowest part of the gorge is not even one meter wide. At the rockfall of 23.09.1995 we leave the most exciting area of ​​the Breitachklamm on a staircase. It takes us out of the gorge in the direction of Waldhaus and the path crosses the Breitach on a metal bridge. We go back to the entrance through a ring tour. We can definitely consider to stop for a coffee or dinner break before we come back :)
