About the route


They say it's one of the most beautiful hikes in Bavaria. I copy and paste.

The ridge between Heimgarten and Herzogstand offers amazing views of Walchensee and Kochelsee. If the day is sunny, maybe there is a chance to take a dip in Walchensee. 

The hike is technically easy, except few sections in the ridge. Those sections are secured with the rope for safety. 


What you need to bring

Make sure to bring proper hiking shoes, water, snacks, and a good mood. Poles and headlamp are optional. Money for the ticket of course.

The hut on the way is opened, so let's chill and have lunch there.


Meeting point and time


The train starts at 6:59. Let's meet at 6:45 on platform 27.
