Let's go to Karwendel, one of the few places in Austria where one may legally pass the border, and enjoy the view of the snowy high peaks from the north while hiking in sunshine.

Technical Difficulty: This hike is NOT suitable for beginners. The route involves some short and easy UIAA I climbing/scramling sections near Montscheinspitze, but they can be skipped. You have to be absolutely surefooted and no fear of heights. You should have above average pace (>450m gain/hour) and stamina, and walking speed of about 6km/h in the flat parts. 

Transport: We will go by car as the starting point is currently not accessible by public transport. Due to Kontaktbeschränkung only one person from another household is allowed in each car. The driver(s) may require passengers to pay in advance. The shared costs include the vignette fee (4,5€/car). Please read the car instructions carefully. If the hike or lift is cancelled or postponed, the drivers must reimburse the prepaid payments. Otherwise a passenger dropping out before departure must only be reimbursed if the driver can find a replacement. Car drivers must contact me first if they drop out.

Joining: Click on carpool. If a car has free seats, read the instructions and possibly join the car. Otherwise add yourself to the waiting list and regularly check for free seats. You are not automatically assigned to a car. If a car is deleted, you must add yourself to the waiting list again.
