Description
How bad do you wish to dive in the Heiterwanger Lake and enjoy an afternoon swim? A passage through the Highline 179 is the right way to achieve that!
Technical difficulty: This hike is graded as easy/medium difficulty and I would like to have a pace between 400-500.
Things to bring:
- Hiking shoes;
- Food and water(1 or 2 litres) - there are more possibilities on the way where we could eat/drink something;
- Trekking/hiking poles;
- Sun screen;
- Bathing clothes;
- Rain jacket;
- Good energy.
Optional:
- First aid kit.
Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
Good to know
We will meet at 6:10 in front of platform 27 to have time to buy the tickets. the train will leave at 6:32. The price for the ticket is between 10 and 13 Euros. After 6:20 you have to buy your own ticket! For crossing the bridge you need a ticket that costs 8 Euros.

The trip with the train will be around two hours so we could start our hike around 9. My intention is to take the train back from Heiterwang-Plansee at 19:11 and to be in Munich at 21.26(we also have options at 18.36 or at 21.15).

IMPORTANT: Please announce 12 hours before the hike if you are not able to attend. If you have on your account a NO SHOW review in the last year DO NOT JOIN. Also, if you do not come on the hike, you will get a NO SHOW review and you won't be able to attend any of my hikes in the future. Thanks for understanding.

Hi Pinat! I find it very good that you started to organize events and please think more on the energy and effort that implies such an event. I do not consider positive to be two similar hikes at the same day because there will be problems on the way. The groups will meet on the mountain and a crowd will be created, not a pleasant hike. I totally recommend to reconsider the date for your hike tomorrow and pick an other date. On the Hiking-Buddies website are more than 1000 possible hikes, so I am sure that you can be creative and avoid situations like this in the future! All the best, Cosmin.

These NO SHOW rules are pretty ridiculous. I was automatically added to the hike on Saturday night because someone dropped out 12 hours before the hike, and on Saturday evening i rarely check my emails. So I am effectively banned from your hikes because of something i had little control over.

Hi Oliver, I understand your point of view and I would like to share mine, for you to have the "whole" picture. When a person joins a hike and is on the waiting list, that person should check regularly the mail and the status. Joining implys an obligation from the participant. Because these are free(no money involved) events this is the minimum requirement. Please check the status and these things will never happen. Thanks for understanding. Cosmin

A possible solution would be that 12 hours before the hike to check the status of the list. Easy.

The thing is, there ale usually loads of people on the waiting list. More often that not, participants from the main list don't show up to the hike, thus leaving the others standing, which is seriously uncool. That's why some decided to apply those rules

I understand the reasons for the "no show". When I started doing Hiking Buddies years ago, usually it was a "two strikes" system. Where if you didnt show up twice then you were banned for a year. I think that is much more fair. I have been on at least 30 hikes with hiking buddies, led a number of hikes, and never a no show until now. If everyone applies your NO SHOW rule, then I am effectively banned from the platform for the rest of the year.

Oliver, I understand your point of view and please take the time to understand mine also: we organise hikes as volunteers(no money involved) and each person uses some limits/rules to be able to create a great experience in the mountains. The rules I use improve the quality of the hikes, and who does not want to respect them is free not to join the hikes I organise. And for the second point you mentioned, if other wouldl apply the same rules I use, I guess that the number of NO SHOWs will be almost zero. Thanks again for understanding.
