The Krottenkopf (2,086) in the Estergebirge, is the highest mountain in the Bavarian Pre-Alps.
We will start at Eschenlohe and go up through the Archtalschluchtweg, first to Oberer Risskopf and to Krottenkopf.
Our next station is Weilheimer Huette for lunch or just a refreshment for those who have food from home.
On the way back we will check if alles in ordnung in 2 peaks, Schindlerskopf and Hohe Kisten and will walk down through the Pustertal, Mesmerhuette and the Hahnbichelsteig back to Eschenlohe.
Pace:
The pace is not fast and will be flexible as the fast ones can add peaks and the less fast ones skip them, but it is not a beginner hike as a level of fitness and basic alpine experience of steep slopes is needed. The Archtalschluchtweg might be difficult to some people. Be sure that u looked at the route path, length and cumulative height.
Currently it looks like a light rain in late afternoon. If forecast change too much, we will postpone.
Safety:
Disclaimer: I am not a mountain goat.
Serious Disclaimer: hiking may be dangerous, I am not a mountain guide - everyone is responsible for their own safety. Personally I have an alpine insurance (DAV membership) so make sure you have a reasonable one.
