This week I organise a hike to Ehrwahlder Sonnenspitze also called
Matterhorn of Ehrwald (by far easier than Matterhorn). Meeting time in
Munich 8:15 in front of Gleis 29. I will join the train in Murnau at
9:30. We arrive in Ehrwald at 10:30 and take a bus to Biberwier (can
also go by foot there). From there we go up to Biberwierer Scharte and
hike up to the peak from the south side. Going down on the north side,
possible bath at Seebensee and lunch at Seebenalm.
You should be sure-footed and have some experience in exposed terrain.
The hike includes some climbing in grade I and partly II, so you should
have some experience with that. This hike is recommended for regular and
more experienced mountaineers. The difficulty is T4+/T5-, for an
explanation of this rating see here: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/blog/2018/07/02/sac-hiking-scale/
Helmet is warmly recommended and can be lend at DAV!
