The Halserspitze (1862m) is a great vantage point in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps near the Tegernsee in the so-called Blaubergen. But the way there is long and strenuous. First you have to master the Wolfsschlucht with some steep parts and steel cable passages, and then you have to climb the long - but easy - summit ridge (with several intermediate peaks) to reach the summit. On the descent you have to be sure-footed and free from vertigo. For experienced hikers who are fit enough, this is a sensational tour with a fantastic view of the Tegernsee suspects (Roß- & Buchstein, Hirschberg, Schinder etc.), the Guffert, Tegernsee, Achensee and far beyond! All in all a real classic with the possibility to stop for a bite to eat in Siebenhütten and the Blaubbergalm. Tip!
Route description (in German)
https://www.bergtour-online.de/bergtouren/bergwanderungen/schwer/halserspitze/
The route is 7h long. If we leave at 7am from Hbf, we are at Wildbad Kreuth at 9am and the real hike starts around 9.30am. We should be back at Siebenhütten at 17.00hrs the latest, since at 18.00hrs leaves the last bus to Wildbad Kreuth Bahnhof. There is, up to some point, the option of turning back in case we think we don't manage with the time.
The route is very exposed, and you should be comfortable in the mountains. Hiking equipment is enough. Think about enough water and food, as well as some basic medicines (for example, band-aids for blisters).
I have never done the route, I'll bring the map on my phone (with enough batteries) and a paper map. However, the route seems to have good signalization.
Please sign up and let me know if you have done a similar trip, understand the commitment and give some examples of qualifying trips.
This is my first event as an organizer and I want to keep it simple. I have done, however, a couple of difficult hikes so far.
Happy to see you!
