Route: We will take the Werdenfels Bahn to Ehrwald. There we will catch a connecting bus (cost 2.6 Euro) to the Ehrwalder Alm and begin hiking in the shadow of the Zugspitze up to our first lake. From there, we will move into more rocky and wild terrain visiting both the Seebensee and the Drachensee.

The route itself is mainly non-technical with a 200 vertical meter T4 passage on the descent/ascent; this is secured with a steel cable. However, it still has 1000m of elevation gain and it's probably a little too long for a first time hike. We'll hike at a slow pace, 300m/hr, which is slightly slower than normal.

Gear: A good pair of hiking boots (not running shoes), a sun hat, sunscreen, and a light jacket, just in case. Poles are optional, but always helpful. I would recommend to take max. 1 liter of water and some snacks. There will be multiple alms with water sources along with the route. We will also stop for lunch, likely at the Coburger Hütte. You should bring cash for lunch and also a few Euros for the bus. Also, we are crossing the border into Austria, so please don't forget your ID/passport.

Schedule: We will meet at Munich Hbf Gls Gl.27-36 (The north side of the train station), where the trains to Tegernsee and Garmisch leave from. Please try to arrive at 06:55; I will buy the ticket at 7:05 and we will immediately board the train. The S-Bahn Stammstrecke is again under construction this weekend.

We will arrive at Ehrwald at 8:54am, catch the 8:55 bus to the starting point and should arrive at the Coburger Hütte at 13:00. I expect that we will arrive back in Munich no later than 21:00.
