Meeting point: Munich HBF, in front of platform 33

Meeting time: Saturday, 6:25 am

Public transport: We will take RE57392 from Munich at 6:41 am. We reach Immenstadt at 8:24 am, where we take RE3881 departing at 8:30 am. After arriving Oberstdorf at 9 am, we need to take Walser bus No 1 to Alpenrose. This is the start and endpoint of our hike. The bus departs every 10 minutes, and we expect to be reach Alpenrose around 9:44 am. There are hourly connections from Oberstdorf to Munich departing at 19:20, 20:21, 21:23 and 22:20. Please note that the bus is not included in bayern ticket and we would have to pay for it separately.

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3, although for most part it is T1 and T2. Please read the blog to understand the requirement for T2 and T3 sac scale. In general, I think anyone who has the endurance to walk 19 km, and has some experience with mountains, is suitable for this hike. If the group is advanced, we might go to the nearby peak LiechelKopf as well, which requires some scrambling of grade I, near the top.

We will have lunch at Mindelheimer Huette, however, please bring enough food/drinks to avoid starvation/dehydration before reaching there.

Things to bring:

• Waterproof hiking boots
• Some food and drinks for way (we will have lunch at the hut)
• Cash for the ticket, and food/drinks at the hut
• Sunscreen or rain jacket depending on the weather
• Some tolerance for the cloudy weather

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
