Wednesday looks nice and sunny, so why not go for an afterwork hike.
We will meet at 16:15h at Munich Hbf Pl.28 and get Werdenfels group ticket.
Please be on time, otherwise you will have to buy your own ticket.
We take the train at 16:32 RB5431 to Ohlstadt.
Return connection: We take the RB5432 a 21.25h towards Munich. Goal time to be at 21.15h at the Ohlstadt Bf.
(There is another train at 22.25 as well, so this will be our alternative. However, having done this route, I'm confident we will make in time for 21.25 :) )
Sunset starts at 19:37 and till end of nautical dusk at 20:46 we will have enough light for our descend.
Destination: Großer Illing (1341m) is a nice viewing pulprit over Loisach valley.
As großer Illing is not mentioned anywhere on the marking/ signs, the peak is anything but overcrowded.
It's an ideal short tour for when you don't have much time or want to sleep in and start late with the hike or in this case for a sunset hike. :)
Please make yourself familiar with the route - in "route details" you can see the type of paths we will be going and if you feel like it is not for you, then please unjoin in time.
Ascend:1.30h Descend:1.15h
There are no huts on the way, so bring some snacks and max 1l water for the hike.
Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
Please bring with you the usuals:
- mask for the train ride
- mini first aid kit (hand sanitizer, plaster just in case you get some blisters)
- cash for the ticket
- ID & smartphone
- trekking shoes / hiking boots
- hiking poles (optional)
- weather appropriate clothes (think in layers (a sweater as it gets colder after sunset) and no jeans on the hike)
- some snacks and water to keep you energized on the way (I recommend max 1L to take)
- a headlamp - mandatory! as it is a sunset hike
