Description

This hike takes you up through the Höllentalklamm to the Südliche Riffelspitze. The path down to the Eibsee is exposed with fixed ropes. Klettersteig (A) on the way down.


The hike starts from Hammersbach and continues thrugh  Höllentalklamm  a natural wonder with clear ice cold water gushing through the narrow canyon. There is a price to enter the klamm (5 Euros for adults). After the klamm, we will reach the Höllentalanger Hütte and make a short brake. 


After brake we will start to climb really steep to Südliche Riffelspitze. From the top there is a beautiful view on the surrounding mountains and Eibsee. 


From the top we will start to descent to the Eibsee. On the way down there is an easy via ferrate (A). For this part klettersteig set is optional if you already have an experience. If not then you need to have equipment (helmet, klettersteig set, gloves).  


The hike ends on Eibsee, from there we will return with bus or train to Garmisch and continue to Munich. 


For this hike you need to be fit, in good shape and have an experience.

Meeting point: HBF Munich terminal at 06:15 train starts at 06:32. 

Arriving to Garmisch at  07:54.

From Garmisch we will take a Zugspitzbahn at 08:14 to Hammersbach where we will arrive at 08:27


What to bring:

  1. Hiking shoes 
  2. Enough water and food, we will not do a long break at a hut. 
  3. Rain jacket
  4. Hiking pools are optional
  5. Cash for Bayern ticket
  6. Helmet, gloves, klettersteigset ( some guys wrote that they made the way down without the climbing equipment, if you feel comfortable and secure maybe you don't need it)  
  7. Your smile and sense of humor :)
