Description
Hi all,
join me on a panoramic hike with amazing views on Wilder Kaiser region.
It is a mostly T3 hike, the scrambling part close to the peak is T4, i.e. exposed and consist of scrambling of UIAA grade II with one key point (aka Schlüsselstelle) of grade III. Don't be mistaken by the short length of the hike - the exposure of the terrain and quite steep acsend require alpine experience and good fitness level.
To participate you need:
- experience in scrambling in grade II or above
- absolute surefootedness
- no fear of heights and no vertigo
If you have a car, we meet at: Wegscheid 8, 6351 Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser, Österreich at 08:45
Otherwise please join one of the available carpool options. Fuel expenses will be shared between passengers.
This hike is NOT suited to beginners.
Disclaimer: I am not a professional mountain guide. This is not a guided hiking
tour. You are responsible for your own safety. Mountains can be a dangerous
terrain.
Good to know
Please bring:
- ID/passport for boarder crossing
- proper hiking boots
- drinks/food for the whole day (there is no hut on the way)
- helmet is very strongly recommended
- gloves for scrambling part are recommended
- cash for the carpool

Weather prediction does not looks so good for Sunday. Considering there is scrambling involved, looks like high risk.
Are you considering moving the event? Saturday could work.

Right now there is 25% chance of light rain (0,1l) after 14:00. I am planning to be done with the scrambling part till that time. If the weather forecast gets much worse I will change the route to another one which doesn't involve scrambling. Moving the hike to Saturday is not an option for me.
