Description
Hönig is a beautiful flower mountain located in the Lachtaler Alps. The ridge ascent provides amazing views of the Alps and the village below.
This is an easy but long hike and is suitable for beginners who do sports on a regular basis.
Public transport: We will take RB5512 train (in the direction of Reutte in Tirol) departing
from Hbf at 8:32 am, and arrive at Bichlbach Berwang at 10:43 am. This is the start and endpoint of our hike. Please arrive on time or you will not be included in the ticket.
Departure time of return connection: 17:16 or 18:43
Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T2.
We can have lunch at Kogelhuette if there is time during the descent, but please bring enough food/drinks for the whole day.

Good to know
Things to bring:
- passport or identity card (we are going to Austria)
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Cash for the ticket (10-12 EUR) and (possibly) for the food at the hut
- Food/drinks for the way
- Sunscreen
Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Are we gonna buy Bayern tickets? I'll be coming from Regensburg, is it okay if I buy one Bayern ticket for 5 people? I'll be at the train station in Munich at 8:17

Hi Zuzanna,
yes, you can just buy a ticket for five. I will buy ticket for the rest of the people depending on how many people show up- then we split the cost evenly per person.

I expect the ascent to take roughly 3-4 hours. Out of the total 20 km, 9 km is just walking along the street -which wouldn't take too long. (somehow there were no buses running between the start site and train station on Saturday..)
