I've never done this hike before, but it should be an easy one (fit beginners welcome) and hopefully with beautiful views. I'm planning to take a relatively relaxed pace since it's a short hike. The weather looks good for now. If the weather shifts, I may cancel the night before.
We will meet at Munich Hbf Platform 34 at 8:45AM and purchase a group BOB ticket at 8:50AM. Latecomers will need to purchase their own tickets. The train leaves at 9:04AM. Then we will catch a bus from Schliersee station to Birkenstein to begin the hike.
We will aim to have lunch near the summit. The bus/train on the way back to Munich comes every hour. If you need to reach me, my phone number is: +49 176 5943 7553
Bring:
Mask
Cash for BOB ticket (7-10 Euro)
Enough water
Hiking boots
Sunscreen
Snacks
Lunch (I am not sure if we will pass an open hut)
Charged mobile phone (ideally download the gps map offline)
Rain jacket
Something to sit on when we eat lunch (e.g. a plastic bag) because it may be wet/muddy
Hiking Buddies Munich is not a group of professional mountain guides but individuals gathering for sport activities. Each participant is responsible for her-/ himself and has to be prepared, bring suitable equipment and has to check if he meets the physical requirements. Hiking includes a certain risk and everybody is responsible for his/ her own safety. It is highly recommended having some kind of insurance in case of an incident.
