Important: We are crossing the border, so please have the documents with you that you usually carry for border crossing.

This is an easy-medium hike - suitable for beginners who do sports on a regular basis. In case conditions are not favorable, we might bypass Walser Hammerspitze

Public Transport: We will take RB57580 departing at 6:53 am, which will arrive Kempten at 8:22 am. From there we take RB57662 departing at 8:28 am. At 9:19 am we reach Oberstdorf. We take Bus 1 departing at 9:30 am to Kanzelwandbahn (9:52 am). This is the start point of our hike.

Note that the bus ticket is not included in the Servus (or Bayern) ticket. However, it has a 50% discount for a group of 10 or more people.

The hike ends in Mittelberg.

Return connection from Mittelberg: 17:40, 18:40, 19:00... 

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3. With the recent snow the route will feel a bit more challenging. Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T3.

We may have a lunch break at the hut, however, this will happen during the descent, so bring enough food/drink for the whole day. 

Things to bring:

• Waterproof hiking boots
• Cash for the ticket + possibly for the food/drink at the hut
• Food/drinks for the way
• Sunscreen
• Some tolerance for cloudy and rainy weather
• (optional) ideas/resources to play some game during the train ride back to Munich :)

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
